Wandering in The Rocks Dine out

The Rocks is a lovely part of Sydney to wander through the cobbled streets. I love to imagine what life was like for the settlers who lived here in the 1800s, the wealthy and the poor, all trying to eke out a living in this tough and foreign land. Mum and I visited the National Museum of Contemporary Art with the intention of seeing an artist Mum had encountered in France, but unfortunately the exhibition he is in does not start until later in April. After our stroll through the galleries, we needed to refuel on a dreary day so we...

Roast lamb and potatoes Dine in

I love recipes where I can do all (most of) the prep, chuck it in the oven and just let the oven do the rest. Recipes like this are even better on a Sunday! Everybody had seconds of this. The potato/anchovy combo made creamy deliciousness that partnered so well with roast lamb. The only thing I would change is my rotation of the lamb for the photo… but I was in such a hurry for Stu to carve it! Ingredients 1.6kg leg of lamb 5-6 potatoes (skin on) 1 onion 2 cloves of garlic 4 anchovies (or more if you...

Chicken / Recipes

Mum and I have made this recipe before and substituted marinated artichokes which were also delicious. Obviously, they don’t need to be pre-cooked! If using marinated artichokes I would suggest cooking the artichokes, spring onion, bacon and chicken together for about 30 minutes, instead of one hour. Ingredients 6 chicken breast fillets 1 lemons, halved 2 globe artichokes 5 bacon rashers, rind and excess fat removed, chopped 1 bunch spring onions, stems trimmed to 10cm lengths and halved lengthways salt and pepper 1 lemon, extra, cut into wedges to serve Green harissa 1 bunch fresh coriander, chopped 1 tbs ground...

Recipes / Side Dishes / Vegetarian

This is a male friendly recipe which my boyfriend managed to make last night (without too much assistance!). We served it with lamb marinated in lemon, rosemary and garlic and steamed vegetables. Ingredients 3 or 4 potatoes, peeled and sliced into 5mm discs 1 medium onion, sliced 3 or 4 field mushrooms, cleaned and sliced 2 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp fresh thyme 1 tsp fresh chopped parsley 1/2 cup grated tasty cheese Directions Preheat the oven to 200C. Place the sliced potato between layers of baking paper to drain excess water. Cook the onion and mushroom in a frying pan...
