This tastes much better if you are very generous with the amount of golden syrup you add.

Ingredients

  • 200g butter
  • 200g white chocolate
  • 200g dark brown sugar
  • 3/4c hot water
  • 1 tbs golden syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g plain flour
  • 150g self raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. Melt butter, chocolate, sugar, water, golden syrup and vanilla essence in a saucepan over low heat. Allow to cool for approximately 20 minutes.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time (if your saucepan is big enough you can mix everything into that), then add sifted flours and baking powder and mix well.
  4. Cook for 50-60 minutes.
