The Pie Tin Dine out

Unfortunately this is all that was left from our visit to The Pie Tin. Tucked away in a side street off busy King St sits a small but bustling cafe. I had heard about “The Pie that ate  Newtown” so that’s what we went for, but there was so much more! An extensive array of savoury pies are on offer which you can have served with regular or sweet potato fries, or a variety of salads. We kind of over did things and ordered both types of fries and salads and it was waaay too much food. The pies have flaky pastry...

Mary’s Newtown Dine out

As I am walking into Mary’s and my eyes are adjusting to the dim lighting my ears are assaulted with loud obnoxious metal music. It is 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon, perhaps too late to line up for lunch but definitely too early for this. This place is certainly a nice escape from the hustle on King St! We were unable to make a reservation for 4 on a Saturday night, so while we were having a drink at Cittavino Stu wandered across...

Our favourite wine bar Dine out

If you are walking down Enmore road, you may walk straight past Cittavino and I kinda hope you do. I say that because it’s a small bar with charm and I want it to stay that way. We have been popping in occassionally since early last year and it is getting busier every time we return. Marco always seems to remember us, we are made to feel welcome and that’s why we keep going back. The concept is simple. White, rose and red wines are on offer from all around Australia and the world and you can buy by the...
