Sunday morning

I love to read novels which have a historical point of reference, and the book I currently cannot put down is All the light we cannot see by Anthony Doerr. I was reading in bed this morning to the soundtrack of my grumbling belly. I was hungry, but just couldn’t put the book down until I had finished it!

It is set in Paris during the second world war, and is centred around the life of Marie-Laure. She lives with her father near the Museum of Natural history where he works as a locksmith. Marie-Laure goes blind when she is six years old, and this is a story about the strength of a girl who is given opportunity not opression as a result of her disability. Highly recommend!
