Stuff on bread Dine in

I have (unfortunately) settled back into Sydney and returned to work after our wonderful trip to Amsterdam and I have fallen into my normal summer breakfast routine of muesli, natural yoghurt and fresh fruit. Our daily breakfast while we were in Amsterdam was rye bread topped with a slice of cheddar cheese (there were seemingly hundreds of varieties in the supermarket!) and a slice of cured meat, either smoked ham or ontbijtspek (a delicious smoked speck-ish product) and it was delicious and kept me full until well past lunch. Open sandwiches, or really any type of sandwich, are a very Dutch way...

Jerk chicken and home made flat bread Dine in

Stuart took himself shopping while I was working interstate and came home with ice cream, orange juice, chocolate and corn on the cob. Not to the standard of my usual weekly shop but as the corn was still in the fridge on my return I had to use it up so I decided to make jerk chicken. Ingredients Jerk chicken 1 tbs allspice berries 1 tbs black peppercorns 1 tbs dried chilli flakes...

This recipe is from my favourite food blog/magazine Lucky Peach that is doing a series on home recipes called “We love Mom”. The recipe made enough for two batches so I froze the second mid rise for a rainy day. The frosting is...

Chicken / Recipes

Mum and I have made this recipe before and substituted marinated artichokes which were also delicious. Obviously, they don’t need to be pre-cooked! If using marinated artichokes I would suggest cooking the artichokes, spring onion, bacon and chicken together for about 30 minutes, instead of one hour. Ingredients 6 chicken breast fillets 1 lemons, halved 2 globe artichokes 5 bacon rashers, rind and excess fat removed, chopped 1 bunch spring onions, stems trimmed to 10cm lengths and halved lengthways salt and pepper 1 lemon, extra, cut into wedges to serve Green harissa 1 bunch fresh coriander, chopped 1 tbs ground...
